Experts from the Colgate Office of Admission hosted a livestream Q&A session Tuesday night, answering questions ranging from the importance of extra curricular activities to the intricacies of financial aid for prospective students and parents. A recording of the live session can be found on Youtube.
Vice President and Dean of Admission Gary Ross ‘77, along with Senior Associate Deans of Admission Karen Giannino and Lynn Holcomb, answered questions and offered advice from questions posed via live-telephone calls, chat room discussions and unanswered questions from Giannino’s reddit AMA, which she hosted earlier in the day.
“Being informed about the college admission process is essential to navigating a hectic and exciting time in a high school senior’s life. Regardless of where you decide to attend, having a better understanding of how college admission works will help demystify the experience,” said Giannino.
Giannino received more than 1,500 questions and comments on a reddit AMA (“Ask me anything”). The topic was so important — and Colgate’s unbiased information was so highly valued — that the conversation made it to reddit’s home page.
