New Student Checklist
Academics - Due June 26
You need to submit your Colgate Academic Preferences and Experiences (CAPE) form by today, Wednesday, June 26, for incoming first-year students. Submitting your CAPE form on time makes it more likely that you will be placed in the classes you select. Transfer students will be contacted directly by the Office of the Registrar.
Depending on your language of study, you may also need to take a language placement test online by today, Wednesday, June 26. Refer to your New Student Checklist to see if you are required to take an online test and keep an eye on your Colgate email to access your exam.
First-year students have also received information on the Colgate Community Reads Program to be completed throughout the summer. Remember to claim your copy of Poverty, By America, so you can complete your summer assignments. You will find instructions on how to access your copy on the Colgate website.
Forms and Documentation - Due July 1
The following required items will likely need to be discussed with your family/guardians. These forms can also be accessed through your New Student Checklist.
Immunizations and Health Records
All students are required to complete and present health history information and proof of immunization. Student Health Services (SHS) has summer hours Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can call Student Health Services at 315-228-7750. Non-urgent questions can be sent via email to studenthealth@colgate.edu or through the confidential medical portal.
Please complete the following tasks:
- Activate your myColgateHealth Patient Portal (confidential medical portal) account. You have received an email from SHS via your Colgate email with instructions on how to do that. Due to confidentiality reasons, you need to use your Colgate email address for this portal.
- Complete and submit a Health History form, Meningitis Response Form, and Immunization Certificate. You will also need to complete a Tuberculosis (Tb) Screening questionnaire. These forms can be accessed through your New Student Checklist. You are only required to have Tb testing if the questionnaire indicates that testing is required.
Students who do not send immunization or health history information to Student Health Services will be required to complete this paperwork before receiving their room key upon arrival. We strongly recommend that you receive all required vaccines before you arrive at Colgate; however, if this is not possible, you will need to receive your immunizations (at cost) at Student Health Services. (International students: arrangements will be made by the Office of International Student Services.)
