Yellow Ribbon Program

Colgate participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, a component of the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
As a Yellow Ribbon school, Colgate has entered into an agreement with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs promising to cover the cost of tuition and fees above those covered by the basic GI Bill.  The result is that eligible student-veterans (or dependents of veterans) have all of their tuition, fees, and educational expenses covered.

Veterans must be in the VA’s 100% eligibility tier and have been honorably discharged from active duty since 9/11/01 to receive or to transfer their Yellow Ribbon benefit.  Eligible military veterans can learn more at the GI Bill website

How to Apply

To begin, apply for VA education benefits through the Veterans Administration and then contact the Office of Financial Aid to process your award. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additional Benefits

To calculate a student's potential non-Yellow Ribbon GI benefits, which in some cases can be transferred to a veteran's dependent through a transfer of benefits application made to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, please visit the VA's GI Bill Benefits Calculator.

Questions about veterans' benefits may be directed either to the nearest VA regional benefits office or to the Office of Financial Aid.
