Friday, May 5 was beautiful, sunny day for Awards Convocation 2023.
The Department of Geography had four awards to present this year.
Recipients of the Kevin Willams ’10 Endowed Memorial Fellowship were Xose Agbadan ’25 and Barbara Gonzalez Fuentes ’25. The fellowship was established in memory of Kevin Williams ’10 to provide stipend support for one or more geography majors to travel while studying abroad.
Keegan Kessler ’23 was given the Peter Gould Award in Geography, which is presented to a senior geography major who has enriched the geography community through exemplary leadership, service, and achievement.
Sophia Ferrero ’23 was awarded the Shannon McCune Prize in Geography, which is presented to the senior geography major who has demonstrated outstanding academic merit and promise, as judged by the department’s faculty.
