New Tenure-stream Faculty
The department ran very successful searches this spring for two faculty members who will be starting at Colgate in the fall. Fatima Aqeel will be teaching introductory economics in the fall and gender economics next spring. She did her graduate work at Boston University. David Murphy comes to us from the University of Evansville where he has been an assistant professor. He will teach introductory economics in the fall and development economics in the spring.
New Visiting Faculty
Since we are such a large department (at least in Colgate’s context), multiple faculty members are on leave every year. We are fortunate to have just made three excellent hires of visiting faculty members for next year. They will join Md Hasan and Nazmul Islam, each of whom will continue as visitors this fall. Pierce Donovan is an environmental economist whose graduate training is from the University of California, Davis. He will teach environmental economics and statistics. Sean Inoue is a theorist who received his PhD last year from the University of Arizona. He will teach game theory and intermediate microeconomics. Genevieve Alorbi earned her Phd from the Institution of Southern Illinois University and joins us as an A. L. O'Connor Chair of American Institutions in the Department of Economics. She will teach health economics and intermediate microeconomics.
