March 15
An outside cybersecurity security expert will be performing *vulnerability scanning of our internet facing network. No services should be impacted.
March 16
An outside cybersecurity security expert will be performing *vulnerability testing of our internal network. No services should be impacted.
March 17: From 5–7 a.m.
The Infrastructure Team will be installing patches on the Universities main storage arrays. These patches are important to maintain the performance and security of the storage infrastructure. No services should be impacted.
March 17, 18: From 6–8:00 a.m.
The Infrastructure Team will be performing system improvements to the network access control system.
March 17 and 21
The Infrastructure Team will be replacing wireless access points (WAP’s) in Lathrop Hall and McGregory Hall as a part of our normal replacement cycle. Wireless coverage will be temporarily affected in the area of the WAP that is being replaced.
March 18: From 1–3 p.m.
The Infrastructure Team will be installing patches on the development and test instance of our Degreeworks environment. This is important to maintain the security of our systems.
March 19: From 6–7:30 a.m.
The Infrastructure Team will be installing patches on the production environment of our Degreeworks environment. This is important to maintain the security of our systems.
March 19: From 1–3 a.m.
The Infrastructure Team will be installing patches on our DHCP, DNS, and IP management system to maintain the security of the system.
March 19: From 7:30–8 a.m.
The Infrastructure team will be modifying a Case-Geyer data center switch. No services should be impacted. This is to better support new research computing needs.
March 19: From 7:30–8:00 a.m.
The Infrastructure Team will be relocating power connections in the Case-Geyer data center to better serve research computing needs. No services should be impacted.
March 19: 8 a.m.
ITS system admins will be changing the method you use to claim a Wolfram Mathematica license. After the change, the new process for requesting a license for Mathematica will allow you to use your Colgate network/SSO credentials. Updated instructions for claiming a license will be posted at colgate.edu/software. No downtime is expected and users with a license prior to the change will not experience any change.

March 20: From 1–6 a.m.
The Infrastructure Team will be installing security patches on our main campus firewalls, and migrating services on our campus firewalls from an older set of firewalls. There may be a few brief interruptions of network traffic and Internet access during this window.
March 20: From 7–8 a.m.
The Infrastructure Team will be converting the Mailroom Trailer from a network single link to multiple links to improve bandwidth and provide redundancy in case of hardware failure.

An outside cybersecurity security expert will be performing *penetration testing of our internet facing network and our internal network. No services should be impacted.
March 21
An outside cybersecurity security expert will be performing *wireless vulnerability scanning. No services should be impacted.
*Vulnerability and penetration testing is an authorized simulated cyberattack on our network performed by an outside cybersecurity expert to evaluate the security of our network and identify any security holes or concerns. The outside cybersecurity expert will first scan our internet facing and internal networks for potential vulnerabilities and then attempt to exploit these vulnerabilities during the penetration testing phase. No services should be impacted.
