Kayla Bush joined human resources as talent acquisition specialist on Jan. 3, 2022. Kayla previously worked as a human resources generalist at Elmcrest Children’s Center. She received her associate degree, a PHR. She enjoys cooking, fishing, softball, attending her children’s sporting events, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She has a daughter, Julia, and a son, Joel.
Cindy DeGroat began on Dec. 21, 2021, as a custodian. Cindy was previously employed by Morrisville Auxiliary Corp. Dining Services as a retail manager. She enjoys gardening, spending time with her 7 grandchildren, and running a small hobby farm and greenhouse called Luci’s Hillside Farm. She and her husband, Lucas, have three children (Kasi, Keri, and Mike) and many pets on their farm.
Andrew Diehl began on Jan. 3, 2022, as associate director of athletics fundraising and engagement. Andrew previously worked at Ohio Wesleyan Univ. as assistant director of annual giving. He received his BA from Ohio Wesleyan in 2014 and his MEd from St. Lawrence Univ. in 2016. He enjoys golfing, watching sports, fly-fishing, and spending time with his wife, Amanda Brewer, and their daughter, Ada.
Shelby Doyle joined planned giving as an administrative assistant on Jan. 3, 2022. Shelby previously worked as an administrative assistant for the chief nursing officer and president of Dosher Memorial Hospital in North Carolina. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. She and her husband, Mike, have a daughter, Addison, and a dog, Case.
Garrett DuVall began on Dec. 20, 2021, as a millwright. Garrett previously worked at Golden Artist Colors. He attended SUNY Delhi and enjoys hunting, fishing, and sports.
Erin Engelhardt began on Jan. 3, 2022, as director of student-athlete academic enhancement. Erin previously worked at Syracuse Univ. as disability access coordinator and Seattle University as assistant athletic director for student-athlete support. She received her BA in psychology from Le Moyne College in 2002 and her MS in higher education from Syracuse Univ. She enjoys coaching youth soccer and lacrosse and adventures with her partner, Eric Badeau, and her children, Mary and Elly.
John Forbes began on Jan. 3, 2022, as director of leadership gifts. John previously worked at Mohawk Valley Health System as VP of philanthropy. He received his BA from Hamilton College in 1997. He enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, hockey, golf, and spending time with his wife, Allie (Colgate ’99); their children Wyatt and Delilah; and dogs, Dash and Zeke.

Tonya Merritt joined the bookstore as financial and data coordinator on Dec. 1, 2021. Tonya is a licensed massage therapist, photographer, and was previously a stay-at-home mom. She received her associate degree in applied sciences at North Country Community College. She enjoys hiking, photography, nature, and spending time with her husband, Dylan; children, Jaxon and Morgan; and dogs, Marlin and Lucy.
Kelsey Olney-Wall began on Jan. 26, 2022, as NAGPRA assistant in the Longyear Museum of Anthropology. Kelsey was previously employed as a McGee curatorial assistant at the National Museum of Wildlife Art. She is completing a masters of art in museum studies at Syracuse Univ., has a post-graduate certificate in antiquities trafficking and art crime from the Univ. of Glasgow, and an honors bachelors in classical civilizations and fine art history from the Univ. of Toronto. She enjoys hiking, baking, trivia, exploring antique shops, paddle boarding, where to get the best doughnuts, and watching movies and tv series.
Lorraine “Lorri” Perry joined the residential life office as an administrative assistant on Jan. 3, 2022. Lorri has a bachelor’s degree and previously worked as a housing officer for the Portland Housing Authority. She enjoys creating art, trying new foods, and spending time with friends and her family, including her husband, Mark; children, Andrew and Katie; and dog, Henry.
Evan Schmidt began on Dec. 1, 2021, as a financial aid assistant. Evan was previously a studio assistant at Colgate. He has his BA in international affairs from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR. He enjoys rock climbing, bouldering, cooking, and reading.

He received his BA in literature and humanities from Sarah Lawrence College and his MA in intercultural service, leadership, and management from the School for International Training. She received her BA in art history from Lawrence Univ. and her MA in art history and museum studies from Case Western Reserve Univ. Terri A. Stewart began on Jan. 3, 2022, as the director of campus safety. Terri was previously employed by Nazareth College also as director of campus safety. She received her BS in communications from Syracuse Univ. and her MS in administration (organizational management and development) from Trinity Univ. She enjoys hiking, downhill skiing, sledding and snowmobiling, being anywhere on or near the water in summer months, and chasing fall foliage in the fall (her absolute favorite). She has a miniature dachshund, Lincoln “Linc.”
Jonathan White began on Nov. 29, 2021, as an assistant athletic trainer. Jonathan was previously employed as an athletic trainer for the Michigan State Univ. baseball team. He received his BS in athletic training from Endicott College and his MS in kinesiology from the Univ. of North Georgia. He enjoys spending time on Lake George, hiking the 46 High Peaks of Adirondack Park, tennis, and golf.
John “Jack” Worden began on Jan. 10, 2022, as a campus safety officer. Jack was previously a New York State correctional officer for 31 years. He enjoys camping, woodworking, carpentry. He and his wife, Robin, have two daughters and three grandchildren.
Wyatt Youngs began on Dec. 14, 2021, as a custodian. Wyatt was previously employed by Napa Auto Parts as a delivery driver. He is a graduate of Sherburne-Earlville HS and enjoys bowling and spending time with his pug, Gizmo.
Jailekha Zutshi ’21 began on Jan. 17, 2022, as interim area director of Dart Colegrove Commons. Jailekha was previously a residential fellow for the commons. She graduated from Colgate Univ. in 2021 and enjoys reading, cooking, dance, and art.
