The Portal (uPortal)

Colgate's portal, found at, provides students, applicants, faculty, and staff a customized set of dashboards and links to personalized, protected information to help them manage their Colgate information and complete their daily tasks. Our portal is developed in uPortal, an open-source framework.

Business Systems: Student, Finance, Employee, Advancement (Banner)

Banner is Ellucian's ERP software that supports the business functions of the university: admission, student information, financial aid, human resources, finance, and alumni relations and advancement. Employees access Banner at and Banner Self-Service via the portal.

Document Management and Workflow (Nolij)

Nolij is Perceptive Software's document management and workflow solution being used to go paperless and improve business processes at Colgate. READ MORE

Concur (Travel and Expense Management)

Concur allows employees to manage their travel arrangements and expense reimbursements electronically, thereby reducing paper usage and reimbursement time. Faculty and staff access concur via a link after signing into the portal.

Events Management System (EMS)

Emergency Alert System (Rave Alerts)

Colgate's Emergency Alert System is Rave Alerts, which provides e-mail, SMS text, and voice message notifications in the event of a campus emergency. Students, faculty, and staff register by signing into the portal and clicking Colgate Alert.

Provides automated phone directory services using voice recognition. Dial 315-228-7755 (or x7755 on campus) and immediately say the name of the person you are calling.

Facilities Management (FAMIS)

Technology Research and Advice (Gartner)

Provides technology research, analysis, and advice by signing in from the portal Welcome tab and accessing Gartner.


Colgate uses Tableau server software for enterprise dashboards and visualizations. The data warehouse synthesizes data from various systems and is the backbone of most of the information found in Tableau.
