Website Guidelines

Colgate launched its redesigned website August 13, 2012. As part of this important project, the university adopted a standard design style for all official pages in an effort to present a consistent experience for users.
Page layout, color, navigation, and font are established sitewide by the templates accessible through the university's Sitefinity content management system.

As part of the redesign project, the university also took important steps toward improving accessibility, an effort that continues today. It is important for all campus content managers to use the current template structure to ensure best practices for accessibility.

Website Style Guide

Please use this guide (PDF) to create and update web pages in a way that ensures a consistent web experience for colgate.edu. This guide includes approved colors, font types and sizes, photo and text treatments, and other detailed information.

Graphic Identity

Unified graphic standards reinforce a strong and cohesive identity. These standards (PDF) establish a system for proper usage of the Colgate wordmark and seal and apply to all print and electronic communications from academic, administrative, and student-related departments and programs.
