Student Housing

Colgate students build lifelong bonds as they push learning beyond the walls of the classroom.

The Residential Commons

The Residential Commons program is the foundation of the Colgate residential experience. The commons connect student residents to peers, to faculty, and to intellectually and socially rich programming.

All students live within their Residential Commons for their first two years, with options for more independent living during junior and senior year.

Junior and Senior Experience

Students study in a residential lounge in East Hall.
Nearly all Colgate students live on campus, contributing to a vibrant community around the clock and on weekends.

Colgate students identify with their Residential Commons throughout their time on campus. However, during junior and senior year, there are many housing opportunities outside of the commons allowing students the opportunity to live independently and to form their own communities.
