My research focus is on environment-human interaction. Specifically, I am interested in the nexus of climate change, development and violent conflict. In my dissertation I analyzed how climate related resource degradation influences violent conflicts between pastoral groups in northwestern Kenya. My further interests include climate vulnerability, adaptation, policies and questions of globalization and energy security.
