Water Resources
Water is essential to life. Let's use it wisely.
Water is precious, and it is also taken for granted. Imagine, for even a moment, going a day without easily accessible, clean water. We drink water, cook with it, use it to shower, brush our teeth, clean, wash our clothes, flush our toilets, heat our buildings, irrigate our golf course and athletic fields, and brew our coffee, just to name a few of the many ways we use water each day.
Altogether, the Colgate community consumes over 75 million gallons of water each year. That rations to over 1,000 glasses of water each day for every student, faculty member, and staff member at Colgate. By treating water as the precious resource it is, we can do a lot to reduce our water consumption.
