Colgate Teams Honored With Perfect APR Scores

HAMILTON, N.Y. (6/10/10) – A number of Colgate University athletic teams have achieved a perfect score of 1,000 in the NCAA's academic performance standard, the Academic Progress Rate (APR). The Raiders posted 18 perfect scores during the 2008-09 academic year and nine perfect multi-year APR scores based on data from the 2005-2006 through 2008-2009 school years.

The APR uses a series of formulas related to student-athlete retention and eligibility to measure the academic performance of all participants on teams at every Division I college and university.

The 18 teams to post a perfect score last year were men's cross country, men's ice hockey, men's lacrosse, men's soccer, men's tennis, men's indoor track and field, men's outdoor track and field, field hockey, softball, women's cross country, women's ice hockey, women's lacrosse, women's rowing, women's swimming and diving, women's tennis, women's indoor track and field, women's outdoor track and field, volleyball.

The Colgate teams to post perfect multi-year APR scores were golf, men's lacrosse, men's soccer, men's indoor track and field, men's outdoor track and field, softball, women's cross country, women's swimming and diving, volleyball.
