Born in Hangzhou, China,
Zhou Tian began studying music composition as a middle-school student at the Shanghai Conservatory. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, a master’s at Juilliard, and a doctorate at the University of Southern California. Tian arrived at Colgate in 2011.
